How to setup a VPN

Among the things that took  the internet by storm  in the year 2015 was the phrase “Netflix and Chill”. It blew up everywhere and made me real curious as to what the fuss was about, but some unfortunate souls were as clueless about this as Alicia Silverstone in the movie “Clueless”. Why, you ask? That’s because whenever I try to access Netflix, a big fat note mocks me saying “Netflix is not available in my country yet”. What? What did I do to deserve this?

Now, before I dived into total misery, my friend nudged me and said, “You know you can access this through a VPN” And I stared at him in disbelief. Okay maybe I am exaggerating a bit but that’s the day I was familiarized with this wonder called Virtual Private Network (VPN), and what it can do for you.

It can not only let you access the region restricted websites, but it can also make your downloads anonymous. It gives you enhanced security, make you anonymous with a virtual IP address, and lets you access the censored or blocked websites.

What a VPN does is, it conceals your real IP address and gives you a virtual one giving you complete anonymity. So advantageous is also fairly easy to use and setup. You can setup your VPN following a simple process.

How to Setup your VPN:

Step 1: Note down your IP address.

Step 2: Start Menu → Control Panel → Network and Internet → Network and Sharing Centre → Setup a New Connection or Network → Connect to a Workplace.

Step 3: Fill in the required details and connect. VPN will then initiate its setup and try connecting.

There you have it; you can now enjoy the internet with complete anonymity.
